So Ashley and I went to the Advocare Success School this past weekend in Forth Worth Texas. I'm not gonna lie - it was over the top. Like, over over the top. We thought we landed at DFW but in reality we landed on Planet Advocare.

Living a healthy lifestyle, being active, setting goals and working hard to achieve them are all very important to me and I am always looking for new challenges to help me reach my goals. After hearing and reading about all the amazing results that everybody at Minnesota Top Team was having with the 24 day challenge I decided that I better give it a try for myself. I was not really sure what I was getting myself into or what to expect, but I was ready to give it a try. Before I started the challenge, I for the most part had a fairly “clean” diet, but I definitely had my weaknesses and allowed myself too many “cheat” days! I told myself that if I was going to do this that I had to give 100% and be true to the program and to myself. I hit Trader Joes and Whole Foods with my shopping list and recipes in hand. The next morning I woke up and had my first fiber drink; it definitely was not the greatest drink in the world, but it wasn’t THAT horrible and after a few gulps it was gone already. I had prepared a big salad with spinach greens and lots of vegetables the night before so for my lunches I would take some of that and then add tuna, tofu or chicken when it came time for lunch.
Before I started the challenge one of my weaknesses was coming home from work and snacking on whatever I could find so I knew that coming home from work and snacking wasn’t going to quite make the cut, so I mentally prepared different options I would have when I got home such as an apple and almond butter or veggies and hummus. Knowing in my mind what I was going to have made it a lot easier for me to come home from work, grab a snack and I was good to go. A pretty typical dinner for me is some sort of fish (salmon or tilapia) or chicken with either millet or quinioa and then a steamed vegetable such as sweet potatoes, asparagus, broccoli (really just whatever I have around I will throw in the steamer!)
Within a few days of sticking to the plan (and not sneaking anything which was hard for me especially with working at a school and always having treats in the teachers lounge and students bringing in snacks), and continuing to work out I started to notice some awesome changes.
