This, our dear readers, friends, family, members and stalkers is OUR NEW BABY, our diamond in the rough with a facade only a mother could love. We've been working on this at MTT for the past 1.5 years and finally, FINALLY, she's officially ours; our very own building.
We can't imagine a building better made for Minnesota Top Team and our Boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, CrossFit and Hockey training needs. The irony of it all is that this building has been empty for 7 years; that's about exactly how long we've been in business. So she's basically just been sitting there waiting for us to find her.
What you can't see from these pictures is how incredibly awesome the end result is going to be. As Jeremy says, "it's got a lot of hair on it" which is grossly accurate but she's going to shine right up like a new penny and you will fall in love with her just as we have. It's more space than we have now in Eagan but with an even better layout. Jeremy has a very clear vision of how things will be and it's his vision that has created the awesomeness we have now so rest assured, it's going to be great.

We've built a community on the edgy, grungy-but-not-too-grungy, real-gym=hard work vibe at our current Eagan location and this new space will be all that and more. We'll even have showers. And a wide-open, one-level layout with enough separation to create program spaces but open enough to where we can all work off of each other's energy. And we'll still have three garage doors. And we have land for running or death ball or whatever we want.
If you know where our current Eagan location is, you know that people don't "happen upon" us. We're seriously hidden and we're also seriously hindered by our street address which unfortunately for anyone trying to find us is not the street we're actually on.
Where is it? In Eagan, exactly 5 miles from our current Eagan address. 3500 Dodd Road, across the street from Thomson Reuters, on the corner by UPS, and across the street from the Eagan YMCA. CAN YOU SAY DRIVE-BY TRAFFIC??? There's easy access from 35e/yankee Doodle to 149 or if you're coming from 494 you'd take 55 which turns into 149 - easy peasy.Next big question: When? Not for a long time, a year and a half at the very least because as we've said - she's been all alone for 7 years and she needs some TLC before she's ready for us. We'll keep you posted on our progress; there will be few secrets.
On a personal level, this is a bigger dream fulfilled than we even dared to dream. As a small business owner, such frivolty as retirement plans, investments and future planning is simply not part of the conversation. But for us, we now have something of legitimate value we feel we're truly building. MTT is our heart and soul and it's our love affair with it that drives us, motivates us, frustrates us, exhausts us, lifts us up and throws us down. Now that we'll have our very own place with no annually escalating obnoxious rent payments and the freedom to do what we want when we want, we feel like we're falling in love all over again with MTT.
We'll be tearing down, clearing out, cleaning, painting, building, roofing, and more for a while to come. For those of you who have been on this crazy ride with us, hang on because there's so much more good to come!!
Also, it must be noted that we would NEVER have been able to close this impossible deal if it were not for our amazingly dedicated and persistent realtor Ryan Stanton of Coleshire Properties. We owe him a debt of gratitude we're not sure we'll ever know how to repay. If you need anyone to work with for commercial leasing or purchasing, you must call him first.
