Something that always amazes me is what people are "into". If you can think of it, there's a group of die hards out there making it their passion and planning events around it. Sports fans are the obvious ones but how about stamp collectors? star wars? remote control boat drivers? baton twirlers?
That's as far as I could get on my own so I googled and found this hilarious list: 10 of the Weirdest Hobbies.
What is YOUR THING?
For Jeremy and I, MTT is our thing. We're living our dream: as a couple we get to work together towards something that is completely ours; we get to create a gym environment exactly how we would want a gym to be; we are blessed to be surrounded by people who are interested in living healthy and active lives; and we get to provide an opportunity for people to FIND THEIR THING.
The stories of peoples lives that have been changed by walking through our doors are endless and are reserved for another blog. Most people find us because they are looking for something more in their workout, something different or edgier, they have dreams of competing, they want to be able to protect themselves and while it's usually something they are slightly scared to try, it's that fear that motivates them.
These are the "things" that have touched and changed each of the lives of the members: Kids, Youth and Adult Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, MMA, Circuit Training and now.......MTT CrossFit. Oh yes, I know that some people call it CultFit and some think it's a fad and will go by the way of Zumba or Jazzercise or Step Aerobics (all of which, btw, continue to be some people's "thing".) Phooey. It's cool, it's hard, it's rewarding, it's for everyone, and it starts in August 2012 at Minnes
