Phil Knowles, MTT InstructorPhil Knowles joins us at Minnesota Top Team as our Tae Kwon Do and Self Defense Instructor. He has been learning Tae Kwon Do for over 14 years, has been teaching for over 4 years, and is a Black Belt through National Karate.  Hear what he has to say about his new program offered at Minnesota Top Team in Eagan.

Unarmed self defense is an important component when it comes to protecting yourself.  You cannot rely on those around you all the time if you are in danger.  It is important to be in excellent conditioning and having the ability to protect yourself if you were ever attacked.  When it comes to the news, there always seems to be a victim of a violent crime.  This is a heavy burden of mine, because most, if not all of the time, that situation could have been prevented.  As a martial arts instructor, it is my responsibility and my honor to provide quality training techniques so that one day you might be able to protect yourself if you are ever attacked.

Tae Kwon Do KickI believe if more American citizens know how to protect themselves in various circumstances, the safer our communities would become.  The classes I will teach you at Minnesota Top Team are purposed to help you become safer; it is my goal to teach the martial arts to others so they can be more prepared and hopefully, not become a victim

The Tae Kwon Do classes offered at Minnesota Top Team will teach you the fundamentals in protecting yourself.  You will have the opportunity to learn a variety of techniques through Tae Kwon Do, American Kickboxing, and various self defense drills.  We will also include intense fitness exercises to help increase your level of conditioning, and will help you get in the best shape of your life.  You will develop confidence, instill discipline and focus, as well as learn the essential skills in protecting yourself. tae kwon do bags

My philosophy is to train harder than you would need to in a fight.  The more prepared you are in the gym, the more successful you will be in a physical confrontation.

I am looking forward to this opportunity and would welcome anyone to come in and try my class!

We too look forward to the new dynamic that Phil and his Tae Kwon Do and Self Defense program will bring to our members at Minnesota Top Team. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30-6:30pm  As with all of our classes, the first class is free so come in and try it for yourself.
